Sometimes we get scolded for being cafeteria Catholics. Choosing what we like and ignoring what appears distasteful. We all need to continue feasting at the Lamb’s invitation. Grace builds on grace. Let us enjoy the richness of the high feast. ~Fr. Matt
Two perceptions of the scripture help us see our journey in a literal way and in freedom to escape the bitterness of life. Can we perceive the possibilities? ~ Fr. Matt
Shared pain or fear is no longer paralyzing but MOBILIZING is the first sign of hope to an eternity with God. ~ Fr. Matt
To be a disciple of the Lord we need not only acknowledge his works, but continue his mission. The expertise is God, not us “Without cost you have received without cost you are to give”. ~ Fr. Matt
Where does this feast take us? We need to take the invitation personally and within the believing community with the same mission? ~ Fr. Matt
How do we approach the unapproachable? How do we imagine the unimaginable? We cannot define God. ~ Fr. Matt
Mutual respect and acceptance was part of the human landscape. The effects of the Tower of Babel are with us today in an acute form. We look on one another with fear and prejudice. On Pentecost let us renew the peace and pardon that the Holy Spirit brings. ~ Fr. Matt
Since Jesus states in Book of Revelation that he is the Alpha and Omega, the first and last letters of the Greek Alphabet , it’s up to us using the alphabet to clearly describe our deeds in Christ. ~ Fr. Matt
In John’s gospel we hear the word Paraclete as the Holy Spirit. It means comforter, counselor, teacher, guide, helper, and advocate. ~ Fr. Matt
There is a saying that goes , put four women in a kitchen and you’ll get five ways of setting the table & cooking the food. We develop expected ways to do things so everyone will feel comfortable. In a multi cultural society as described in readings the Jews from the diaspora spoke Greek like the gentiles. There was conflict and confusion. All this was resolved by gathering together to understand one another.
