Sixteenth Sunday In Ordinary Time

Without the fuel of prayer, service can be a crushing responsibility.  Martha and Mary remind us we need the silence and communion with God so that doing things for others do not become an annoyed grumbling instead of a vocation or calling from God.  Let us go forth imitating the example of Martha and Mary so as to experience the fulfillment of our humanity.          ~ Fr. Matt

Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Getting ready for a trip to unknown lands cause us to look for the experts.  Travel agents, tours, books, etc.  Jesus gives us some traveling tips for our ministry.  We must be attentive to the needs of those seeking healing, peace, and the good news of salvation.     ~ Fr. Matt

Corpus Christi

At every Eucharistic celebration we carry Jesus into our life.  We know there will be change, adjustments, pitfalls, and detours.  We must be open to continual growth conversion, and transformation.  With united hands and hearts we proceed with faith and hope.     ~ Fr. Matt

The Solemnity of The Holy Spirit

Does the Holy Trinity have any effect on us?  Jesus revealed the trinity as immanent life between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and the effect that relationship has on us? This mystery is more difficult than solving Rubik’s Cube.  God is our salvation and our relationship with The Divine is essential.  Who sees Jesus sees the father.  The spirit is the continued revealer of Jesus.  Be surprised by the love God has for us.            ~ Fr. Matt

Seventh Sunday of Easter

Even in the early church we hear of unrest and disagreements.  Some downplayed the humanity of Christ.  Others gave up on love of community.  Moral behavior started to erode.  Some moved on to a higher personal revelation aka Gnosticism.  Let us try our best to be in union with the Lord and one another.     ~ Fr. Matt

Sixth Sunday of Easter

When old ways threaten to stunt the growth of community and dilute the good news of salvation, the Holy Spirit is there to enlighten, enlarge, and broaden our understanding of the faith.  The Holy Spirit remains with the church leading and lighting our path keeping us faithful to the sacred traditions and when necessary instituting new ones.                     ~ Fr. Matt
